Some of the biggest names in tennis, including Venus Williams, Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz trained at Flushing Meadows on Monday with the main draw of the US Open slated to kick off in less than a week.
Two-time US Open singles champion Venus Williams received a wildcard to compete in this year’s tournament, while her sister, Serena Williams, will compete in the mixed doubles alongside Carlos Alcaraz.
Fans at the park for Fan Week were thrilled to see the older Williams sister take to the court with many lining up for her autograph and selfies after her session.
World number two Alexander Zverev also stepped out to hit some balls.
The German will be gunning for his second Grand Slam title in New York after he won the French Open earlier this year.
Also on hand Monday was 2024 US Open runner-up Taylor Fritz. Fritz is one of a handful of home favourites looking to snap a 23-year drought of American men winning Grand Slams.
